In a world that is increasingly getting its news from alternative sources like podcasts and social media, traditional media has found itself playing catch up. In an interview with Yahoo Finance anchor Seana Smith at the Yahoo Finance Invest conference, Former CNN Worldwide Chairman Chris Licht says news media can have a place in this new landscape, if it embraces the individuals now being turned to for headlines, and the communities that look to them.
“I would invest in something that is going to roll up some of these people and personalities that have built a community so that you can then scale it," Licht said. "I see that happening, I’m involved in those conversations, that’s where people are thinking.”
