Disney to raise streaming prices: Biggest takeaways from earnings call

Disney (DIS) reported third quarter earnings on Wednesday, where the company announced it will be raising the prices of its ad-free plans of Disney+ and Hulu, as well as cracking down on password sharing in 2024. Disney+ will increase from $10.99 a month to $13.99 and Hulu will increase from $14.99 a month to $17.99.

On password sharing, Disney CEO Bob Iger said on the earnings call, "we are actively exploring ways to address account sharing and the best options for paying subscribers to share their accounts with friends and family... We will roll out tactics to drive monetization sometime in 2024."
