Coyote at Phoenix Zoo Beats the Heat by Splashing in Cold Water

A coyote played in cool water from a hose during record-breaking hot temperatures at the Phoenix Zoo in Arizona on July 3.

Linda Hardwick of the Phoenix Zoo told Storyful the video was taken by Frank Maness, a senior horticulturalist at the zoo.

Hardwick said: “Frank was tending to his daily routine of caring for the beautiful desert landscape at the Zoo when he turned the cool, refreshing garden hose into the coyote habitat. Coyotes are native Arizona and thrive in the hot climate of 100+ temps, but seemingly, these desert dogs enjoyed the experience!”

According to reports, Phoenix saw record-breaking temperatures in early July. By mid-July, temperatures rose to nearly 115 degrees. Credit: Phoenix Zoo via Storyful
