Crew Battles Bear Creek Fire Burning in Southwest Montana

The Bear Creek Fire burning in southwest Montana scorched more than 6,000 acres as of Sunday, August 16, fire officials said.

The fire, burning near Lemhi Pass at the Idaho-Montana border, was sparked by lightning on Tuesday, according to reports. The blaze was at five percent containment as of Sunday morning.

Video shared by the Beaverhead-Deerlodge National Forest shows an air tanker dropping fire retardant along the Bear Creek Fire on Saturday.
