Evacuations Ordered as Mosquito Fire Burns in Northern California

The Mosquito fire burning in Placer County, California, reached 1,203 acres and was zero percent contained on Wednesday, September 7, according to Cal Fire.

Cal Fire said the fire exhibited “extreme fire behavior” on Tuesday, September 6, and that weather conditions on September 7, including near record-high temperatures, will allow the fire to “actively burn.”

The Placer County sheriff’s office issued multiple evacuation orders in the area.
