Man Test Runs New Kayak in Flooded Backyard in North Carolina

A North Carolina man used flooding in his backyard as an opportunity to try out his newly purchased kayak, on July 21.

Kim Turner filmed a video that showed her neighbour, Erik, kayaking in his backyard while water continually gushed into the property.

“We have our own rapids in our backyard and our neighbour is taking full advantage, " Turner laughed in the video.

Turner told Storyful that she had experienced similar weather events but Erik had only moved to the area around eight months ago, and had not experienced such flooding.
