Police officers in Northern Ireland investigating the murder of Lyra McKee released new footage of suspects on April 26, along with a fresh appeal for information.

The footage shows three men walking along Central Drive in Creggan, minutes before Lyra McKee was fatally shot.

In a press release, Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI) detective superintendent Jason Murphy said that the footage showed three men he wished to identify, including one who he believed to be the gunman who shot McKee.

“You can see he is wearing dark clothing and in other footage you can see this clothing in a different light. People know who he is,” Murphy said.

Murphy emphasised his belief that those in the community know the identities of those in the video, and that a better future for Northern Irish communities depended on information being shared with the police. “Such sentiment will all be in vain if collectively we cannot tackle the malign influence that some individuals continue to exert over our communities,” he said.
