A mother took advantage of a flooded local middle school track by paddleboarding in the floodwaters as a record-breaking “bomb cyclone” was sweeping through Northern California on October 24.

Adriel Wood filmed his wife, Lauren Wood, paddleboarding during the downpour in their neighborhood in Roseville, California – about 20 miles northeast of Sacramento.

The National Weather Service said 5.44 inches of rain fell in Sacramento October 24-25, the all-time record daily rainfall. The Sacramento Bee also quoted from the California Department of Water Resources that Sunday’s storm was a Category 5 bomb cyclone. Credit: Adriel Wood via Storyful
