Officers lined up police cars to create a blinking Christmas tree formation in West Bloomfield, Michigan, as their virtual submission for the Beaumont’s Children hospital Moonbeams event, dedicated to children spending the holidays in hospital.

Aerial footage uploaded to Facebook by the West Bloomfield Michigan Police Department shows police cars with their lights on, lined up to form a flashing Christmas tree.

The Beaumont’s Children hospital had previously run the “Moonbeams for Sweet Dreams” event every night in December, according to the hospital, with pediatric patients shining flashlights to look for community members in the parking lot, who shine flashlights back. However, amid the coronavirus pandemic, the hospital decided to turn the event virtual, with community members submitting videos for the children.

“Being a child in a hospital is no fun, especially during the holiday season,” wrote the West Bloomfield Michigan Police Department, “This is just a small gesture from the WBPD to help bring the season of joy to children who may not be able to spend the holidays at home with their families.” Credit: West Bloomfield Michigan Police Department via Storyful
