A woman in Juneau, Alaska, captured the epitome of winter beauty as she ventured through an ice cave at Mendenhall Glacier on Tuesday, February 2.

Spectacular footage recorded by Carrie Bennett shows the cave’s astonishing interior.

Writing on Facebook, Bennett said, “It was beautiful!! Something I’ll never forget! It was sturdy, but still always nerve-wracking since they can collapse at any given moment.”

The 13-mile-long Mendenhall Glacier is one of the major glaciers of the ancient Juneau Ice Field, “a 1,500-square-mile remnant of the last ice age, cradled high in the coast mountain’s lofty peaks,” according to the US Forest Service. Credit: Carrie Bennett via Storyful
