St Louis Hospital Administers Their First COVID-19 Vaccines

A hospital in St Louis, Missouri, administered their first batches of coronavirus vaccines to healthcare workers on Monday, December 14.

The US Food and Drug Administration issued the first emergency use authorization for a COVID-19 vaccine on December 11, allowing the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine to be distributed in the US.

According to the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services, phase 1A of the vaccine administration will include long-term care facility residents and staff along with patient-facing healthcare workers.

Footage from Mercy St Louis shows medical workers getting vaccinated during a soft opening at the hospital.
