Florida Family Wakes to Find 550-Pound Alligator in Pool

A family in Deep Creek, Florida, awoke early on May 17 to loud noises and discovered an alligator in their pool, the Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office said.

The sheriff’s office said the alligator was almost 11 feet long and weighted over 550 pounds. The office said the alligator tore through a pool screen to get into the water.
