Israel’s Iron Dome air-defense system launched multiple missile interceptors early on April 21 after gunfire was misidentified as rockets being fired from Gaza.

This footage from Mohamed el Saife shows the view from inside Gaza as interceptor missiles lit up the sky.

The Israel Defence Force (IDF) initially claimed that four rockets fired at Israel had been intercepted, but later retracted that statement and said the Iron Dome had been triggered by non-rocket fire at around 2 am.

According to the Times of Israel, just one rocket was launched from Gaza toward Israel that night, at around 10.30 pm. The rocket landed in the Israel city of Sderot, causing damage to a parked vehicle but no injuries, the report said.

In response to that rocket, the IDF said it carried out air strikes on six targets in Gaza, including “an underground complex used to produce rocket engines, a Hamas launch compound, and an anti-aircraft missile storage facility.” Credit: Mohamed el Saife via Storyful
