Herzog began the meeting by confirming that two people were killed in the city of Nahariya, northern Israel, on Tuesday when a residential building was hit by a missile.

Leaving the meeting later, Herzog said it had been productive.

Trump, who is expected to name U.S. Senator Marco Rubio to be his secretary of state according to sources, is expected to offer strong support to Israel and in its conflicts against Hamas and Hezbollah when he takes office in January.
