Knock, Knock - Snake Wraps Itself Around Porch Door at Florida Family Home

Vanessa Cripe of Hernando, Florida, didn’t panic when she found an eastern yellow rat snake wrapped around the porch door at her family home.

Cripe posted this video of the encounter to a public Facebook group called Florida Snake ID on July 30, joking in her caption that the snake “was not allowed entry.”

Cripe told Storyful that she had previously seen an eastern yellow rat snake on the family property, “but this was the first time one had climbed the door.”

She said, “I believe it was looking for chicken eggs as I have chickens and had one that would lay her eggs on our front porch. The snake had found the eggs in the past on occasion until I encouraged the hen to lay elsewhere.”
