The search for a missing submersible in the North Atlantic continued on Thursday, June 22, as more ships joined the effort.

Contact with the Titan submersible, which had five people on board, was lost on Sunday as it visited the Titanic wreck off Newfoundland, Canada.

Several vessels joined the search on Wednesday, including the Canadian Coast Guard boat John Cabot, a vessel with sonar capabilities; and the commercial vessels Skandi Vinland and Atlantic Merlin. A Coast Guard C-130 plane also joined, the US Coast Guard said. A French research vessel also joined the search.

This footage was released by Canadian Armed Forces, who said it was filmed from a Royal Canadian Air Force CP-140 Aurora aircraft from Greenwood on Tuesday. The aircraft provides surface search and sub-surface acoustic detection capabilities, according to the video description. Credit: CF Combat Camera FC via Storyful
