A new poll finds a tie in Maryland's marquee statewide election matchup. Here is what it means for the campaign for U.S. Senate. A recent poll published by the American Association of Retired Persons indicates a tied race to succeed U.S. Sen. Ben Cardin, D-Maryland. The poll found 46% of likely Maryland voters surveyed in mid-August said they support Democratic nominee Angela Alsobrooks and an equal number, another 46%, said they support Republican nominee Larry Hogan. The race is in a dead heat with both campaigns painting the poll results as positive.
