Ukraine’s state emergency service (DSNS) said its rescue team in Turkey saved a woman who had been buried under rubble in Antakya for nine days.

The DSNS shared video on Tuesday, February 14, showing people cheering and clapping as the woman is freed, and then her being carried on a stretcher to a waiting ambulance. She had been in her home when the quake struck on February 6, it said.

DSNS chief Serhiy Kruk said the rescue was the first by the Ukrainian team in Turkey.

The Ukrainian search team has been using acoustic sensors, telescopic cameras, and service dogs to try to find people alive under the rubble in Antakya.

The DSNS said on Monday that its crews had uncovered the bodies of 26 people killed in the earthquake. Credit: SES of Ukraine via Storyful
