Ukrainians wait for buses at Polish camp

Eastern Europe braced for a surge of refugees from shelled towns and cities in Ukraine on Thursday as fighting following Russia's invasion intensified. The United Nations said more than 2.3 million people had now fled the country, with 1.43 million of them having entered Poland from Ukraine.

While some find accommodation with friends or families, others don’t have contacts and have nowhere to go, as host countries scrambled to accommodate them.
