Thousands of workers protested low wages and the high cost of living in Athens, Greece, on Wednesday, November 20, reducing access to the center of the city.

Footage filmed and posted to X by PAME Greece International shows a crowd of workers marching through the Greek capital on Wednesday, holding signs calling for better wages. Some people were seen carrying Palestinian flags, calling for an end to the war in Gaza.

“Massive, militant, anti-imperialist,” read the post.

According to a local news report, the 24-hour strike was in support of the General Confederation of Greek Workers (GSEE), whose demands include an increase in nominal wages, re-regulating industrial relations, and ensuring affordable housing for all. Credit: PAME Greece International via Storyful
