Water flooded the streets of Manhattan’s Morningside Heights neighborhood and disrupted transit after a water main break on Friday, February 7.

The break happened around 8.30 am and was “under control” about an hour and a half later, local media reported. Affected streets were shut down while crews worked to fix the issue.

Friday’s rupture marks the third water main break in a month, according to reports.

The flooding affected the 1 train, with delays and no service all together at certain stops, the New York City Transit Authority reported around 12.30 pm. The subway resumed regular service about 45 minutes later.
