A fox was captured on the grounds of the US Capitol in Washington, DC, on Tuesday, April 5, after several reports of “aggressive fox encounters” in the area, said Capitol Police.

Photos released by police showed officers trapping a fox in a portable animal carrier. Capitol Police advised the public not to approach any foxes, and said Animal Control Officers were “working to trap and relocate any foxes they find.”

California Representative Ami Bera was one of the alleged fox victims. According to Punchbowl News, Bera said a fox bit the back of his leg on Monday night near the Russell Senate Office Building. “Capitol Police came out and then the fox ran away. It was the most bizarre day in Congress,” Bera was quoted as saying.

Another alleged victim, Politico reporter Ximena Bustillo, said on Tuesday that a fox bit her in the ankle as she was walking. “I didn’t even see it. I’m from Idaho. I know to not try and pet it!!” Bustillo tweeted.
