A historic jetty in Carnarvon, Western Australia, was destroyed on April 12 after Cyclone Seroja made landfall the previous night as a Category 3 system.

Wind gusts of up to 170 kilometres an hour were recorded in Kalbarri as the storm passed over the coast, according to the Bureau of Meteorology.

One Mile Jetty was subject to a fundraising effort for restorative works, as the structure was believed to be in urgent need of repair by the campaign.
