Visa earnings top estimates, revenue jumps

Visa (V) posted better-than-expected fiscal fourth quarter results. Adjusted earnings of $2.71 per share, better than the Bloomberg consensus estimate of $2.58. Net revenue of $9.62 billion topped the expectations of $9.49 billion. Processed transactions were $61.5 billion, which was in line with estimates. The release came shortly after The Wall Street Journal reported that the company was looking to shed 1,400 employees and contractors in a bid to streamline its international business.
