The dawn of the space age brought new and exciting discoveries beyond earth. But it also brought about the accumulation of debris left over from various missions – known as “space junk.” Now it’s accumulating, and there’s so much of it that it has to be tracked and the International Space Station has to maneuver out of the way to avoid potential damage. Here’s a look at just how much of a problem space junk has become.
