The haul occurred at midnight on Tuesday in the Amazonian city of Trinidad during a routine control operation by the forestry police.

Officers became suspicious of a vehicle parked by the roadside and, upon inspection, discovered several black plastic bags filled with the turtle eggs.

During the operation, a 23-year-old woman was arrested and is now facing charges related to the illegal possession and transportation of wildlife.
