Kangaroo Can't Avoid the Perils of Magpie-Swooping Season in Adelaide

It seems that not even the swiftest-moving local inhabitants are safe from the protective whims of South Australia’s magpies.

Two birds swooped at a kangaroo as it hopped down a residential street in Brighton, a suburb of Adelaide, as seen in a video uploaded to Instagram on September 30.

Remarking at how unusual it was to see a kangaroo in the area, the video’s recorder, Morgan Forster, told Storyful that it was not unusual to see the birds. She said magpies are “often found swooping around this time of year and usually swooping people.”
