Train Fire Causes Smoke to Rise from Cape Town Railway Station

A fire across two train cars caused smoke to rise from Cape Town Railway Station on the afternoon of Sunday, April 21, news reports said.

News 24, citing fire department spokesperson Jermaine Carelse, reported that two passenger cars on the station’s platform 12 were alight. At least three engines, a water tanker, a rescue vehicle and 19 firefighters were dispatched to subdue the blaze, the report said.
