The bushfire smoke that has plagued Sydney in recent months was evident at the city’s airport on December 10.

Andy McGinlay, originally from Scotland, was waiting on a flight from the airport on that date when he filmed this Emirates plane taking off through the haze produced by the New South Wales bushfires.

Air quality in some areas of Sydney reached a rating that was 12 times “hazardous” on Tuesday, according to local media.
