Timelapse footage shot in Rhode Island showed the almost-full moon setting on February 26, as it changed from orange to pink behind Newport Bridge.

The bridge, which spans Narragansett Bay and links the cities of Jamestown and Newport, was peppered with morning commuters as the snow or storm moon was setting behind it.

According to NASA, the Maine Farmer’s Almanac first published “Indian” names for the full moons in the 1930s. According to the almanac, the tribes of what is now the northeastern US called the February full moon the snow moon or the storm moon because of the heavy snows that fall in this season.
