A shark was spotted swimming in the shallow waters of Orange Beach, Alabama, on May 31, meters away from a person in the water.

It comes two days after a shark was seen circling past a man and child at Orange Beach, Alabama, on May 29.

15-year-old Jackson Silvio was monitoring the shark activity in the Gulf of Mexico when he captured the near-encounter on his drone.

“While flying, I noticed a shark that seemed to be swimming too close to people. It then started to move closer to the child in the video,” Jackson told Storyful.

According to Gulf Shores & Orange Beach Tourism, The Gulf is home to 50 species of sharks with about 20 to 30 species that beachgoers and fishermen can encounter.

Sharks migrate in the region from April to November, with sightings most common in June according to local authorities. Credit: Jackson Silvio via Storyful
