Protests continued in Yerevan, Armenia, on Thursday, September 21, after Azerbaijan claimed control of the disputed Nagorno-Karabakh region following a Russia-brokered ceasefire.

Azerbaijani officials met with Nagorno-Karabakh representatives on Thursday but no agreement was reached, the Armenian Times reported.

At least 200 people were killed and more than 10,000 displaced due to the recent violence in the region, the Artsakh/Nagorno-Karabakh Human Rights Ombudsman said.

Protests also took place the night before, where crowds chanted “Artsakh”, another name for the breakaway enclave that had been under the control of separatist Armenian authorities.
