Expedia Group (EXPE) CEO Ariane Gorin sits down with Yahoo Finance executive editor Brian Sozzi to discuss her promotion to chief executive in May and her vision for the travel booking company.

"I've been at Expedia for 11 years now. You can say I love our company. I love the travel space. I think getting to lead a company that's travel and technology, it's probably sort of, in my mind, my dream, the adventure of a lifetime. My ambitions for the company is to see us grow. It's to see us succeed," Gorin explains. She points to Hotels.com and Vrbo as well-loved consumer brands under the Expedia umbrella. "Our real mission is [to] help travelers create memories."

During her first 90 days as CEO, Gorin was focused on "execution and driving acceleration, in particular, into our consumer business." Because of these efforts, Gorin explains that Expedia's consumer business accelerated by 400-basis-points quarter over quarter. In the long run, Gorin wants to see great value propositions from each of Expedia's consumer brands, saying that the goal is "when travelers think about traveling, they choose our brands."
