Kim Jong Un visits grandfather's mausoleum on 110th birthday

STORY: In the footage aired on KRT, Kim, his wife Ri Sol Ju, and North Korea's high-ranking officials including his sister Kim Yo Jong were seen bowing toward statues of Kim Il Sung and late leader Kim Jong Il at the mausoleum on Friday (April 15) where the embalmed bodies of late leaders lie.

"The Day of the Sun", which falls on April 15, is North Korea's biggest annual public holiday. Kim Il Sung, who died in 1994, founded the authoritarian regime now led by his grandson, Kim Jong Un.

In a separate report, KRT said on Sunday that Kim Jong Un has observed the test firing of a new type of tactical guided weapon aimed at boosting the country's nuclear capabilities.
