Satellite images captured on Tuesday, July 25, showed wildfires burning on the Greek island of Corfu.

Some residents in Corfu were ordered to evacuate, fire officials said on Tuesday. Wildfires have been raging in Greece amid triple-digit temperatures.

Images posted to social media and shared by Greek news outlets show wildfire smoke in Corfu.

These images were captured by Maxar Technologies, who said they show burned areas in the northern part of the island. “As a reminder, with color infrared satellite images, burned areas appear in a black/gray color while healthy vegetation appears in shades of red,” Maxar said.
