Yahoo Finance has debuted its Chartbook, which contains fifty charts from top financial experts across the industry. Yahoo Finance caught up with several of the experts to break down the story of the markets and the economy right now.

Interactive Brokers Chief Strategist Steve Sosnick explained his chart, which shows the Federal Reserve's balance sheet compared to the S&P 500 (^GSPC). Sosnick said, "Once the banking crisis was gone, the market picked up on that immediately. The ramifications now are ... now we're on our own."

Wall Street Horizon VP of Research Christine Short broke down her chart, which utilizes a metric that tracks how many companies report their quarterly results later than they usually do. Short said, "If a company significantly delays their earnings report, well it tends to be that there's bad news that goes along with the report ... for Q3 that metric has ticked up a little bit, and the closer it gets to 100 the more worried we get."

Freedom Capital Markets Chief Global Strategist Jay Woods discussed his chart, which shows the performance of the Dow Jones Industrial Average (^DJI) compared to the Dow Jones Transportation Average (^DJT). Woods said, "You have to pay attention to old Dow theory. It proves time and time again we're in a bull market."

National Association of REALTORS Chief Economist Lawrence Yun main chart of interest is housing inventory, which is at historically low levels. Yun said, "We are in a very unique housing cycle ... the inventory clog up, that is holding back the potential for recovery."

Quill Intelligence CEO and Chief Strategist Danielle DiMartino Booth broke down her chart, which compares business tax refunds to real consumer spending. Booth said, "In July, we had more than $30 billion paid out in these income tax credits (employee retention credits). They're mostly going to the top 20% of earners in America who are largely taking these proceeds, these taxpayer dollars and splurging on fancy international travel."
