Afghan Evacuee Enlists in Indiana National Guard

An Afghan evacuee was enlisted into the Indiana National Guard during a ceremony at a processing station in Indianapolis on Thursday, March 3.

Footage released by DVIDS shows recruit Mohammad Zaki Ahmadi, who previously supported US troops overseas, at the Indianapolis Military Entry Processing Station reciting the oath of enlistment and signing paperwork for a three-year commitment to the organization.

Ahmadi was one of about 7,000 Afghan evacuees who filtered through Camp Atterbury in Indiana as part of Operation Allies Welcome, according to the US Army. Credit: DVIDS via Storyful
