A driver has captured wildfire smoke spreading across Oklahoma on February 27 as multiple blazes burned across the state and in Texas.

A timelapse video from Instagram user @thereal806driver shows smoke and flames in the distance as he drives south from Arnett to Cheyenne in Oklahoma on Tuesday.

“Getting around the Eastern Flank of the Canadian Texas Wildfire! We almost got boxed in! Prayers to all the affected families and first responders!” he captioned the video.

The Arnett Fire Department warned residents that fires in Texas had jumped containment lines on Tuesday and were heading east-north-east at a rapid rate.

Six hours later, residents were told to evacuate after a wildfire from Shattuck and Gage in Oklahoma crossed Highway 15 and was heading south. Credit: @thereal806driver via Storyful
