The International Space Station captured footage of Hurricane Idalia on Tuesday, August 29, as it continued its path toward Florida’s Gulf Coast.

Idalia was expected to make landfall on Wednesday morning as it intensified into "an extremely dangerous major hurricane,” the National Hurricane Center (NHC) said.

Florida Gov Ron DeSantis expanded a state of emergency on Monday morning to include a total of 46 counties. By Tuesday, at least 15 counties across the state had issued mandatory evacuation orders for communities in low-lying areas as well as those living in mobile homes.
