Three Killed in Scottish Hotel Fire

Three people were killed after a fire broke out in a hotel in Perth, Scotland, early on Monday, January 2, Police Scotland told media.

Emergency services were called to the New County Hotel in Perth shortly after 5 am.

The Scottish Ambulance Service told the BBC that a further 11 people were treated at the scene. The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service said a dog also died in the fire.

First Minister Nicola Sturgeon said in a tweet: “This has been a sad and shocking incident in Perth today. My deepest condolences are with the bereaved and my thoughts with all those involved.”
